Condolences were offered to me when I crossed paths with a neighbor in the grocery store parking lot this evening. She'd read the last entry and bravely broached the subject. Under any circumstances the death of a loved one brings intolerable anguish and for those around them, awkwardness and helplessness. With time, as they say, this, too, shall pass. In the meantime, spirits are lifted in immeasurable ways by the gestures of tenderness by friends, acquaintances, and strangers.
To the familiar faces who made the trip for Dad's memorial, the anonymous (and not) flower deliveries, the many phone calls/letters/emails, and especially the parking lot pauses... thank you.
Normal programming resumes soon. Hope you are thirsty.
